First of all, I may seem picky, but I'm not. I'm also not a mean person. I'm very easygoing and polite.

That being said, the following is what I prefer:

+ Description. Normally at least 7+ lines in a small-sized IM. Please be able to do at least that much.
+ Spelling/Grammar. I know that typoes happen, they happen to me, too. If you're typoing a lot, please spell check your work. Please be able to compose a sentence. This is grade-school grammar stuff.
+ Creativity. I don't want to play the same old 'boy meets boy. boy falls in love with boy. boy has mad sex with boy.' thing, because we've all done it before. I like something new, I like action and adventure and science fiction and horror and mystery. A sex scene is fine, if it's thrown in with plot.
+ Helpful. I cannot pull ideas completely out of my ass. A bit of help would be nice. And, if you're IMing me, have some idea of what you want to work out. I have some ideas below. Don't be afraid to suggest something a little different, because I might really like it. And if not, I promise to be cool about it.
+ Diverse characters. If you play nothing but ultra-submissive feminine bottom boys, please don't bother. Your character's main personality descriptor should not be his position during sex, thank you.
+ Slash. Unless you haven't realized yet, I play mostly slash (male/male) games.
+ givehimamask is the screen name. Go for it.

U.S.T. is a big like of mine - that is, unresolved sexual tension. Characters who teeter on the 'will they or won't they' for a long, long time, maybe because of societal pressures or work-related reasons, or maybe just because they're too stubborn to admit anything.

Stuck-Up Royalty.
Adventurers.
Soldiers.
Rebels.

I have a slight preference toward playing the submissive in a romantic relationship, but I can play either, as long as you can play either as well.
